Personal life
Shariff was born into a Muslim family in Mumbai on July 16, 1982 to Indian father and Persian-Bahraini mother and studied at St. Anne's High School, Bandra. There were rumours regarding her dating her Kahiin To Hoga co-star Rajeev Khandelwal. Neither of them has ever acknowledged being together. As Aamna stepped into movies, she was linked with her co-star from the film Aloo Chaat, Aftab Shivdasani.
Career
Modeling career
When Shariff was in her second year of college, she began receiving modelling offers for brands such as Close-Up Toothpaste, Beetel Mobile phones, Emami Cosmetic Cream, Clearasil Skin Cream, Nescafe and many others. She also appeared in Kumar Sanu's "Dil Ka Alam Main Kya Bataun Tujhe" music video as well Falguni Pathak's "Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya," Abhijeet's "Chalney Lagin Hain Hawain," Daler Mehndi's "Eh Le 100 Rupiya" and Shael's "Nachana Kamal Tera."
Television career
Shariff made her acting debut in the daily "Kahiin To Hoga" where she played the protagonist. The show was a major success and is one of the most successful shows in Star Plus history, ranking #5 on Star Plus's top 10 shows of all time. Most of the credit for the show's success goes to the sizzling chemistry between Aamna Shariff and her co-star Rajeev Khandelwal.She returned to acting on TV after six years, playing the lead role in Set India's serial "hongey judaa na hum". This show ended on March 20, 2013 due to low TRPs.She will now be essaying the role of Komal in Punar Vivah 2
Film career
Shariff made her film debut in the 2009 Bollywood film Aloo Chaat opposite Aftab Shivdasani. She appeared in another film that same year with Shivdasani again, called Aao Wish Karein.Her latest film is Shakal Pe Mat Ja directed by Shubh Mukherjee.

The romantic-drama series was show was one of the famous television program during its airing period which helped Star Plus capitalize the television market in the 2004-2006 era. Kahiin to Hoga suffered huge loss when its lead Rajeev Khandelwal left the show in between.
